Trion Board of Education

  • The Trion Board of Education is responsible for:
    • Setting educational policy: The board develops and adopts policies that govern the operation of the school system, such as curriculum standards, hiring practices, and transportation policies.
    • Hiring and supervising the superintendent: The board is responsible for hiring and supervising the superintendent of schools, who is the chief executive officer of the school system.
    • Approving the budget: The board approves the annual budget for the school system, which includes funding for salaries, benefits, facilities, and instructional materials.
    • Monitoring student achievement: The board monitors student achievement data to ensure that all students are making progress.
    • Engaging with the community: The board holds regular meetings to hear from the public and to discuss important issues facing the school system.

 

Superintendent - Reports directly to the Trion Board of Education

  • The superintendent is the chief executive officer of the school district, responsible for developing and implementing educational programs, managing the district's resources, and ensuring the overall success of its students. They play a crucial role in ensuring that all students in the district have access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, careers, and life.

 

Assistant Superintendent  - Reports directly to the District Superintendent

  • The primary responsibility of the Assistant Superintendent at Trion City Schools is to assist the District Superintendent with all operational and functional aspects of managing the school district. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is to fulfill the Superintendent's duties as his proxy.
