Mathematics is the academic discipline that involves the study of such concepts as quantity, structure, space and change. Mathematics evolved from counting, calculation, measurement, and the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects.
The Mathematics Program at Trion High School includes the following courses::
Euclidean Geometry, Algebra 2 CP, Algebra 3 CP, Trigonometry, Honors Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus/AP Calculus, Math 1, Accelerated Math 1, Math 2, and Accelerated Math 2. Offerings will expand as the new Georgia Math Performance Standards are incrementally implemented.
Depending on the year in which a student entered ninth grade, the courses required will differ. Beginning with the freshman class of 2012, all students will be on the Math 1 - Math 2 - Math 3 - Math 4 track. Accelerated options will be available for those students who meet select criteria.
