Professional learning is the means by which teachers, administrators, and other school/system personnel acquire, enhance, and refine the knowledge, skills, and commitment necessary to create and support high levels of learning for all students.
In accordance with State Board of Education rule, Trion City Schools has appointed a Professional Learning Advisory Committee to advise and assist the system coordinator in the assessment of professional learning needs, determination of priorities, content and quality of activities, and evaluation of the professional learning program.

The task of the Professional Learning Advisory Committe is to represent each school in the development and evaluation of the system professional learning program and to provide information to school faculty and leadership regarding:
- Inclusion of professional learning in school accountability plan
- Planning of professional learning activities
- Managing professional learning approval
- Working together as a professional learning community
Cancelling a Northwest Georgia RESA Class

) one week in advance of the RESA class if you need to cancel your participation in the class. Please provide Monica a quick note as to why you must cancel. In the event of an emergency just prior to the class call Monica at 706-295-6189 extension 28. Follow up with a quick email to Monica on the following day as your verification that you contacted RESA to notify them of your emergency. This will prevent being charged for "No Show" for the missed class.
Georgia Standards Training via Webinar Available!
The Georgia Department of Education provides professional learning regarding the Georgia Performance Standards online via Elluminate Live. To access the trainings listed below follow these directions: 1. Go to www.georgiastandards.org 2. From the Home page, click on the Training tab (5th orange tab from the left). 3. On the Training page, click on the Elluminate Live! logo. 4. On the Elluminate Live! Webinar page, click on the Current Daily Sessions logo. 5. On the Elluminate Live! page, click on the title of the session you are attending. (Special Note: The title will only appear as a live link 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of the session). 6. On the next page that appears, type your first and last name and "Trion City" in the "Login Name" field. Ex.- Ima Teacher, Trion City 7. No passwords are needed.
All Elluminate sessions are recorded. You may access a recorded session: 1. Go to www.georgiastandards.org 2. From the Home page, click on the Training tab (5th orange tab from the left). 3. On the Training page, click on the Elluminate Live! logo. 4. On the Elluminate Live! Webinars page, click on Archived Recorded Sessions logl. 5. On the Elluminate LIve! page, click on the date within the calendar of the session you wish to access. 6. On the next page that appears, click on the title of the session you wish to access. 7. The session will appear. After a brief delay, a Pop-up Blocker Indicator (yellow border at the top of the page) and information box will appear. Close the information box. In the Pop-up section, choose "Click here for options..." Choose to download the file. After a brief delay, the session will load automatically. 8. No passwords are needed.
